And Dawkins at least is on the record that he isn't an atheist, he's merely atheistic about the God of the Bible.

He would have no problem acknowledging some other god, including a made-up space alien god who genetically engineered life on Earth just like the opening scene of Prometheus.

He's not like some rigorous pure logic thinker, he just doesn't understand Genesis Chapter 6.

I feel like the r/atheism crowd read a version of the Bible that only included parts of Genesis, parts of Leviticus, and a few of Paul's more politically incorrect statements. They spend their time knocking down strawmen and patting themselves on the back for being so much brighter than everyone else. Atheists are more shrill about atheism then my cousin the Baptist is about Jesus. Congratulations reddit for just exchanging one dogma for another.

I'm an atheist myself, but this Dawkins stuff is embarrassing. I still consider myself "Culturally Christian" and have no ill will towards the Church.
