I liked Uji and Soyeon. Bohyung's song wasn't for me. Jinsol is so outmatched here that I feel bad for her. She needs a few more years of vocal training.

I must say, though, I was expecting a bit more from the performances in this show. It's been three eps and I've yet to save a video.

Take Uji's perf here, for example. Not only have I heard better executions of this song by other idols, this one doesn't even sound as good as other stuff I've heard from Uji herself. She has such a powerful voice. Why did it sound like she was holding herself back?

The latest new kpop fans globally would probably be from around gangnam style days. Don't think there's that much of a pull factor anymore with all the old big groups pretty much dead. Maybe I've been at this too long but the younger groups don't seem to have the same kind of charisma. Or I'm just getting tired of kpop.

Anyhow my koreaboo has been focused on variety and drama for the past couple years though I do occasionally go back and listen to kpop for a couple weeks before I move on to other things again. Something is a really average song, they got lucky (or was a good strategy) when they promoted during a really dead month. You wouldn't have the same opinion if SISTAR released the song (which was the idea).

AOA and Girl's Day really took the opportunity in that "transition" phase, big groups weren't dead but weren't promoting as much as before. I really liked both before that, but with Something and Short Hair I started disliking them, they felt really empty. I'm really loving this new era, plenty of options now.

dude they didn't shake up anything. they followed the trend. those groups DO (for the most part) have new sounds. Closer was something entirely different. Gfriend have been mixing strings and guitar into a progressive poppy sound. Lovelyz have (until Destiny) taken an old jpop feel and combined it with newer electronic music. But, somehow, you boil these down to the exact same "copycat" style.

When I sensed the end of D-Unit coming I made an effort to source and buy all the physical stuff they came out with. Including broadcast singles.
