Greetings Anons,
Let us have an OC thread.
Only rules:
1. You took the pic or were present (so selfies OK!)
2. You find it interesting for ANY reason.
A brief caption would be nice too.
Here is my wife next to the base of a fallen redwood in Humboldt, CA.

Here is a car I used to have. Fast, well built and kind of boring.

Big Dipper Photo I took. Intentionally blurred out cause I like how it looks.

>>2556991
That's pretty trippy.
>>2556991
Nice Pic. Is this shot with a Canon? I have a stuck red pixel too.
>>2556925
Picture is large, but not that good; blurry, doesn't pick up greens that well..

Nikon D3200.
Thank you, This was my second time shooting astrophotography and what I didn't know until after this shot is if you hold the shutter open longer, the sensor warms up and this causes hot pixels which look like stuck pixels.

Another photo I took from my trip. Three photos overlayed. I suck at editing, cant seem to find the right ratio between "pop" and "natural". Bunch of hot pixels.
It was very cold. A couple of family members are in the distance.
Took these pics with my cell phone.

Ah, I had no idea about hot pixels. That is likely my problem too.

Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. The 49er's played here in the 60's, as well as a lot of local acts (Grateful Dead, Santana etc) and even Zeppelin.
Perhaps most famous for the scene in the original Dirty Harry where he shoots the hood in the leg at the 50 yard-line.

I was in amsterdam on new years for the first time in my life. I was really blown away, so many people, so many waffles and weed. Dunno how it is on regular days.

Damn op, you travel a lot. How do you afford it?
Poland.
just a picture i took on my summer job in Amsterdam, the last two days of the job it was raining like this non-stop
i had to inspect and register all the bicycle racks, benches and dust bins for the local municipality (Amsterdam West).
A few smaller governmental bodies were merged to form A'dam West and for some reason none of them ever had a single database of the street furniture they placed over the years, thus a company was hired to register said furniture.
it was quite a detailed job, and mistakes were easily made due to copying pasting and forgetting to edit stuff
everything i encountered that was a bench, bin or bicycle rack had to registered and i had to remove the old registrations
-every registration had to be pinpointed on the map(the software had a map divided by .5x.5 metre grids)
-choose type of street furniture(bench/bin/rack)
-select specific model of furniture(i also had to contact the boss a lot to tell him i encountered a new type not yet incorporated into the system)
-material
-colour
-state of paintjob
-overgrowth
-deposits(fungus, moss)
-graffiti
-broken/missing parts
-is the object
-allignment
-maintenance required(this was a yes/no, but every other category except the ones regarding what kind of object it is was judged on a scale of 1 to 4, 4 being the worst. if any category scored a 3 or 4 maintenance was always a yes and i had to include a picture and a description)
the last bit sucked ass because the PDA i worked with was slow as all hell, and uploading more than 5 pictures per hour caused it to freeze. which sadly meant it was time for a break or i had to remember to return all the time
>>2564589
>forgot the picture
cont,
>the only supervision i had was that my boss could see how many points(individual racks/benches/bins) i registered per day, he couldnt even see how many per hour i did
>this allowed me to take a break whenever i wanted
>i got to bike around a lot and pick wherever i started working every day, as long as i finished a predetermined area every week
>listen to music all day long, discover new artists and such
>piss of friends by taking pictures of my interesting job when they were stuck in supermarkets or greenhouses
>i got payed 9,50€ net per hour
>more often than not i worked only 6 out of 8 hours i clocked every day
>on my last day i got payed double by the boss because it was my birthday even though i went home at 2pm
>>2558248
Wrong my friend, mellowyellow was the first in Amsterdam, the Bulldog just claimed it as a tourist attraction, you pay way to much for bad quality green in a theatrical enviroment...it is great you travel so much but please dont believe the lies...groetjes uit Deventer..

Not much to say about this one.
Pulled out of a Costco and liked the atmosphere.

It's a pretty remote spot, particularly for California. I wish I didn't get the cars on the right.

I think that's in London, though I can't remember the name of the building. Admiralty Arch, maybe?
>>2568694
Not London. Although this city does have its share of Anglo features, including a market building whose entire iron frame was built in England and then shipped and assembled onsite.

Took this set of photographs in june of 2012. it is a panorama of broadway from rector street with trinity church on the bottom of the frame, through to E10th st where you can see grace church, and beyond. photoshop at the time had a hard time stitching them together.
I just rediscovered them today after recently trying out microsoft ICE.
ICE can handle it, and generated a panorama 19601 pixels high. so I split it in two, added compression to keep it below 8MB (I think that's the limit) and will upload in two parts.
if anyone is interested I suppose I can upload the full 6922x19601 126MB jpeg to mega or something.
>>2572854
second piece
i just noticed it really fucked up the trinity church. oh well, the street looks intact which is what I was aiming for.
>>2572854
>>2572857
ahh I see, I enabled "auto complete" which tried to fill in the edges.
here is the final result without auto complete; its narrower which allows me to use much less compression.
>>2572854 In the building to the right, those guys in the window are identical. Why?
>>2572881
that's the "auto complete" function i mentioned earlier. i suppose it works much better for landscapes or something.
