It's infamous because it was banned in alot of countries and that the director was taken into questioning because the police thought it was real, he had to get some of the actors to appear at the station to be released.

and theres a very graphic scene where they flay a tortoise alive on screen. It's probably the worst scene in the film because it's actually real.

You're not missing out on much really.
