Anyone interested in vintage military pics should get hold of the book MY BUDDY. It's brilliant. My only criticism is that a lot of the photos have been reproduced actual size, which was pretty bloody small, and not enlarged at all. However, it's a beautiful book in every sense of the word. And no, I'm not the author!

OP, you need to get the book _Shore Leave_, which is chock full of well-produced photos of exactly this. They even had postcards of them a long time ago, nudes and all (sold at gay/lesbian bookstores, back when they existed).

My dad was in the Navy in WWII and I would love to know how often they all just hang out on deck buck naked (all-male Navy at that time) and did stuff like this, which I am pretty sure is authentic.
