I'd say frequently used by certains studios.
Porn is fake, nothing's real: hours and hours of shooting, unconfortable positions, G4Per actors... There's a limit not to cross imo, faking a cumshot. Certains studios (SketS is one of them) use the Blair witch style to create a real life effect and to badly film the action. So that you can hide the fake ejaculation.

i used to work for a porn company and we never faked any cumshots.
we did edit out a lot of shit and it took all day to shoot a scene with lots of breaks.
we let most of the performers watch straight porn on their phones during breaks to get or stay hard.

I am absolutely sure your company didn't use that "special effect". (which one ?) I corrected the anon, a few studios have this practise, not "in most videos these days". The performers in this industry (G or S) are not all "Porn Star". What do you do when a guy can't cum after hours of shooting, or his load isn't viewable for the camera ? Fake cum is easily produced, I've lost the recipe, like blood in mainstream movies.
