Is this supposed to be some sort of art book?

You are not missing much. Overall the book is incredibly disappointing. The contrast with our era of instantly accessible porn, commercial and self-made, make the book seem extremely limited in range and variety. An average "vintage" thread here is better than this entire book.

yeah, i remember this book.
back before internet all we had was books and magazines.
at the time it was pretty hot but i never bought it.
i did have a stack of 'advocate men' magazines though
