When he played Jonny Storm you recognised the character from the comic in his acting.
I don't get that same feeling when he's playing Cap except for that scene when he's punching the bag; that was the one and only scene I thought "That's Cap" and not "some guy pretending to be Cap".
Felt the same way when Tobey Maguire played Spider-Man vs Andrew Garfield. Garfield felt like the real deal whereas Tobey was just a cosplayer; Spidey is not a chubby emo bitch.

Yeah no, I don't understand that all, I mean it depends on the Cap that you're talking about but Chris embodies Cap pretty fucking well, Cap was far from the fave character at the beginning of the MCU era and now I can honestly he has as many fans as Stark. I think the Winter Soldier was him at his prime, though I suppose I can understand feeling that way about the other movies (Cap the first Avenger and Avenger) as it felt like he was still getting used to the role.

He is far too masculine. I'd say Johnny would be better for someone like Lucas Til or Zac Efron. More cute than handsome.

And don't get me wrong: I consider Chris way more attractive than those two (and they are attractive), but they suit Johnny's role better.

The suit he wore was way too tight which made him look chubby. And his physique didn't match Spider-Man to begin with. It was simply a very bad casting call. Same with that horrible Kirsten Dunst as MJ.
The only casting choices they did right with the first movies was JJ Jameson, Green Goblin (but the suit was awful; rejected from the Power Rangers) and Sandman (whom they turned into a masive pussy).

Sure, the Garfield movies had several bad casting choices too, but not as many. Let's just hope the new movies will be made right now that Marvel is controlling what Sony does with Spidey.

Spider-Man is not emo. Yes, he has emotions just like everyone else, but it's not like he mopes around all day and cries for no apparent reason as Tobey did in the movie.
And he quips because it throws the villains off balance and enrages them which is just to Spider-Man's advantage.
He's not been doing that all these years out of fear and/or depression. And if you think Spider-Man has ever been depressed then you clearly don't have a firm grasp of what depression really is.
