No problem m8. I have it because I want to learn history as a hobby/interest (so I can join in on the big boy banter on /his/) But skimming through it, it seems kind of lean, and you might know a lot of this stuff from just browsing on here. So I'd recommend reading another book after this.

Some fucker decided we should start growing our food instead of hunting and gather. A lot of people believe this was a mistake. Other believe that the damage was already done once we decided to walk on two legs. The reactionaries believe we didn't really have anything to do on land to begin with.

I enjoyed H.G Wells' A Short History of the World and would recommend it

Read a few books on historic materialism. It's easy to understand the progression of history, then it all sort of falls into place. Hegel and Marx are both good starts, Zizek's Absolute Recoil is good if you want to get deep into it and have something more contemporary.
