Are people really this idiotic? How can an economic system be laissez-faire when there is a central bank, permanent income tax, and military-Keynesianism (see Banana Wars)? Even if era could be described as laissez-faire, how did it cause the Great Depression? Even Bernanke himself admitted the fraudulent policies of the federal reserve led to the Depression.

The current era of a strong leading president didn't get ushered in until FDR became president.
