Because Orthodox "Christians" have less to do with the Bible than Catholics.

Unlike catholicism, orthodox church structures were dependent on ethnicity. So you had every country from his time having it's own autocephalous patriarchy. So the religious leaders of the slavs were slavs, of the greeks the greeks, and so on.

Luther had absolutely nothing in common with eastern european cultures, much less their organized religions
