Hebrew and Elder Futhark evolved from the same source, the Phoenician alphabet, which evolved from Egyptian Hieroglyphics (Technically Hebrew evolved from Aramaic, and Elder Futhark through old Italic runes, but both of those evolved from Phoenician).

Since you seem interested, I'll give you a hint: the primary god in a Germanic community varied on location. In some places, Thor was seen as the main deity and in other places it was Odin, even Tyr had communities devoted to him.

Additionally, the Futhark is older than this guy. Keep in mind that written language spread from central Asia outward. As such, one cultures written characters are usually just the modified form of another's.
