The Anglos are the underdogs of Europe. While countries like France, Russia, Prussia, Austria, etc. had actual military capabilities and could defeat other European militaries, the Anglos could never win a war against another European power without the help of a coalition. Therefore, the Anglos could find no glory in Europe unless they wanted to get BTFO.

So to find glory, the Anglos decided they would look for easy targets. These easy targets ended up being defenseless, technologically inferior tribes and/or weakened civilizations who could barely fight the Anglos. The Anglos then championed themselves as a "higher race", even though their navy is the only thing that prevented them from getting ravaged by the rest of Europe.
