Actually, this is a very common phenomenom. When the Indo-Europeans invaded Europe, they mixed with local women, of course, so after a few generation almost all the genetic heritage was local, but they still spoke Indo-European languages, they still worshipped Indo-European gods, so they were still Indo-European, the ancestry of the maternal line doesn't really matter in the end because the propagation of culture go through the male line.

This is a retarded argument. I'm a fourth generation immigrant from Germany in the US, both of my great grandparents' on my mother and father's sides came from Bremen just after the great war. I've never stepped foot in Germany, nor do I speak the language or know family or anyone from the old world because my grandparents specifically refused to inform my parents about family ties or teach them the language so they could better integrate in the US. According to people in this thread though, I'd be German rather than American, unless there's some mystical difference between the requirements to be an American and to be a German.

Maybe we should define the exact definition of what it means to be a cultural citizen of a country first?

I'm genuinely interested in those genetic studies. But while we have 2% 'moor' ancestry, northern italians claim Celtic heritage. Moreover, Muslim domination of Sicily was mainly from berber north african tribes, Fatimides, with little Arab/Turk/Black presence, a loto of the settlers were Greek converts. So there wasn't a great difference in "race" between the colonizers and the colonized. After them, Normans came to birng even more genetic diversity.
