Who would win in open battle, 100,000 mandinka warriors from imperial mali or 100.000 early sengoku era samurai?

First scenario takes place in Japan.

Second scenario is in Mali.

Mandinka Warriors because Samurai swords are folded 1000 times ;^)

this is hardly a scenario. We need a battle map.

This is a troll thread but here it goes, in the early sengoku Samurai did not have western firearms yet, but they had learned effective mass infantry tactics, such as using pikes to stop calvary and protect archers.

On the other hand many samurai during this period were still using traditional tactics, mixed formations of Calvary and armored infantry.

Ashigaru during this period were often just mobs of peasants, armed with whatever weapons and armor their lord could spare for them

Assuming we are going off the picture provided...

100,000 Cavalry Units with superior range from spears vs 100,000 Ground Infantry w/ Swords and not Spears/Pikes/Halberds

Gee anon, I fucking wonder.

Go play out this scenario in Total War: Shogun 2 and tell me what happens when swordsmen try to take down cavalry.

Uh, the samurai spawn in Hausaland with full supplies. The Hausa are for some reason hostile to the Mandinka and although they won't particularly help the samurai, they won't hinder them either.

The Mandinka are coming from Korea (and for some reason the Koreans won't get in the way).

The weather is nice enough for sailing (no freak kamikaze)

Each side is armed, equipped, and supplied for best performance.

The pic was just for an OP

who has more horse archers?

In that case, there are way too many potential variables and this wouldn't be fun to even attempt to consider.

Enjoy your thread.

VS threads are all about pointless yet interesting arguments and spouting trivia

I don't expect a conclusion
