Yes, and, though not to the same extent, if they're philosophically illiterate. People have personal preference when it comes to interests, but having an attitude to philosophy or history that denotes it being either meaningless or just "not for them" makes you a moron.

I knew a girl once who believed that the Berlin wall was built to keep the jews out of Germany.
I look down on everyone who is not (can't find a better word) curious about the world. I think the world is a pretty big and colourful place, that includes history as well. Not being interested in stuff is pretty dumb.
