Healthcare is technically really really cheap, especially preventative care.

However the cost of business skyrockets in the US because everyone is so eager to sue that malpractice insurance costs more than a doctor's actual takehome salary.

Also doctors charge patients with insurance and exorbitant amount of moneybecause they know the insurance companies will eat teh cost because for every 1 person that actually gets sick there are 10 people paying premiums without actually needing the benefits.

Lastly the medical profession in the US has a sick obsession with keeping terminally ill patients alive as long as possible, even against the wishes of the patient and family. The vast majority of healthcare costs are incurred on your deathbed.

Doesnt help that a vast minority of Americans are severly obese which is basically "imma need large amounts of medical treatment because I cant keep from stuffing my face" where a normal procedure now becomes more costly to do because their heart may give out at any moment.

The problem with cuba is that while theres plenty of good doctors and you get a quick diagnosis, theres no treatment and no way to get any treatment unless you have family on the outside.
