Which was the most historically significant Scandinavian country?

It seems like Norway was the most prominent in the Viking age, the Danes in the Medieval age, and the Swedes from the 17th century onwards.

Denmark was the first to development any semblance of a proper kingdom and later state.
Denmark controlled large parts of southern Sweden and eastern Norway during the viking age.
Denmark conquered England (and Norway), which is a lot more than just raiding villages.
During the middle ages it controlled all of the Nordic countries through the Kalmar union.
During modern times (16th century onwards) it had an iron grip on the trade between the Baltic and Atlantic sea nations (Sound dues).
It was the absolutist monarchy par excellence in Europe.
However it sucked at war (30 years war, Napoleonic wars, etc.).

Sweden was good at war and later science, had a Baltic empire and "founded" the Kievan Rus.
Norway settled Iceland, Greenland and Vinland, and was big at arctic exploration in the 19th century.

Fyi talking about the viking age in terms of modern geopolitical entities is just plain retarded. There were no centralized large states as such until the late 10th century for Denmark, early 11th for Norway and some time during the 11/12th for Sweden. As for OP, Gustav III did try to gather all stately powers in himself as by the French model in the later half of the 18th century. Then he properly got shot, such is the fate of tyrants.

Norway is the least significant
