What did the Soviets publicly say about Nazi Germany prior to the German invasion of USSR?
I assume they weren't the best of friends seeing as how Nazis actively opposed and physically assaulted Germany commie parties, but surely something positive must have been said to support the non aggression pact

A non aggression pact isn't an alliance. Both groups recognized the UK and US were opportunistically waiting on them to beat the shit out of each other. That was literally their only motive by that point.

Stalin had a large espionage network which in the months prior to Barbarossa warned him repeatedly of the impending betrayal. But he ignored it and even locked up some of the people who told him because he didn't want to "antagonize Germany".
