Wiman Joseon was definitely real,similar to how Nanyue was established by a mixed elite ruling over natives.
pre-Qin Gojoseon was further west while the texts don't make it clear whether it was a toponym or a polity. Within the vicinity of the first Gojoseon there were Shang allied polities such as Guzhu,Ji(forming the basis of the Jizi myth) and nomadic confederations such as the Shanrong,Yemaek and Donghu.
