The Fed Chairs are literal monkeys pulling random switches in the hopes of generating economic growth. Almost every major bubble of the last few years has been due to Fed interference in the markets.

Once presidents figured out that easy money makes for easy booms and easy elections, the Federal Reserve relinquished any positive power it had on the economy. The Fed is in the business of making bubbles and artificially prolonging them as long as possible.
