The Russian flag is pretty much just a copy paste of the dutch flag cause the Tsar cbf changing the Dutch ship designs, but today it has immense significance.

A flag can have meagre origins but through use and time come to represent something much more significant.

I don't know if it was really designed by a brit or not (based on arab history and poetry), but even if it was, it came to symbolise the concept of Arab resistance for millions of Arabs, and today is a national symbol for millions of palestians who hold it with pride.
