This is a philosophical question I pose to socialists, communists, social democrats, etc. Why, exactly, should I care about others? What logical reason is there to care about other's well being? Why shouldn't I just worry about my own needs and desires? I'm not talking about totally isolating myself: sometimes, it is to our self interest to strike mutually beneficial deals with others. I am talking about this "obligation" that people of a left wing persuasion often say we have to have toward others.

This is the most undergrad thing I've ever read.

Or, perhaps you don't know how to answer the question, and thus you resort to an ad-hom
Face it, we don't really care about others that much, there is no real reason to. Most of us are dedicated to friends and family but asking us to help out random strangers is not very logical

Typical manlet college freshman
thats one way to get killed
If you really wanted the answer to your question you would read a book on ethics instead of asking a board of anonymous retards.

By caring about others you ensure that you too have your own rights protected.
This thread is embarrasing OP. Do better.

You don't actually have to care about other people, you just have to look like you do

You are part of a society. If that society sucks, you suffer.
It's the difference between living in Haiti, and what Nordic countries used to be.
>Why, exactly, should I care about others?
If you need a reason, you are deficient. There's something wrong with you.
>What logical reason is there to care about other's well being?
It's not logical.
>Why shouldn't I just worry about my own needs and desires?
Might end up in jail, I dunno.
All of this is just assumed in morality/ethics, it's the foundation that it rests upon. Needing a jusstification for it, is just amorality, which is autism/psychopathy/defeciency.

>What logical reason is there to care about other's well being?
Are you unaware of what a society is?

You're a brainlet to not realize that we are all one being. The illusion of separation is easy. Seeing the connection just involves knowledge of how natural systems interact. How habitats only know what they are, in relative to what they aren't. Yet simultaneously they rely on each other.
To not care about others, is to not care about yourself. You are but a wave that has crested in the ocean. Oblivious to its own being of the whole of the ocean.

Because it gives you pleasure and happiness to care about the wants and needs of others. Why did you make this thread a second time in 2 days?
When you're talking about all the people the leftists want you to care about? You shouldn't. Leftists pretend to care about this people because they think it makes them look better to people close to them (the people they actually care about).
