No he was a good fighter and a good leader he was just a terrible statesman. The battle of Actium may have been the death knell to Anthony's Egypt but even before then Octavius had spelled his defeat by isolating him from the senate and the people of Rome years before his actual defeat. Marc Antony was a brave man, a charismatic leader, and at least decent at tactics and strategy but his inability to see the big picture and think only of conflict in military terms allowed Octavian to isolate him and eventually build a desire for war among the Romans against him. War was inevitable between the triumphirates of course but Octavian's master stroke was that he made sure that when war occurred it was on his terms and not Antony's.

Lepidus got to live the remainder of his life in comfortable exile on some island. Not a bad punishment considering he was an enemy of Augustus but I suppose it was an astute political move as he didn't want to be seen as a tyrant
