If it were not for Aristotle, the scientific method would have never taken form.
He based his philosophy on naturalistic observations. Obviously he could not make observations in the same way we can now, so holding him to that standard is silly.
Plato was a far bigger influence on Christianity than Aristoltle, even among the scholastics who were mostly trying to reconcile Aristotle with the already existing christian framework.
