I can't search this on the internet because yoga has been distorted ever since it was assimilated to western culture so, why does ancient yoga never mention strength training/calisthenics? Was it not considered a priority or even an essencial part for a complete body conditioning? I know it's about spirituality rather than a workout but still it has a considerable part dedicated to body conditioning for those spiritual practices. The difference in which ancient Hindus approached the body compared to let's say the Greeks is very astonishing for me.
