I see a lot of praise for Battlefield, a documentary TV series from PBS.
Some professors and students I've talked to as well as posters on this board seems to have high regards for this series.
I know The Great war Channel and Apocalypse WW1/WW2 is also held in high regard but is there any documentary out there that meets Battlefield's standards?

I've heard that Battlefield whitewashes some mistakes made by the Allies but I haven't seen enough.
And I don't know about Apocalypse WWII. It repeats some of the old myths and inacuracies like it was made 50 years ago. I'd stay away from it. It's almost impossible to find a good all-encompassing WWII series. World at War came the closest. Still not perfect but the best of the bunch.

You mean the Scandinavian episode?

I usually get angry by the first episode. I think Apocalypse was the one with "brave stupid Poles charging tanks"
It's the WWII version of Princip's sandwich. Also a plague of many otherwise good documentaries.

I used to watch this when I got back home from school. Top comfy. Season one was the worst though.

There was a real life battle which involved a cavalry reconnaissance as they found themselves in proximity to a panzer division. They won.

nigga I watch an episode of battlefield every night before bed, only a true autist can appreciate the extremely dry, yet thorough summary that battlefield provides
