Subjective idealism.

All of reality is either your thoughts or God's thoughts.

All physical properties of this world merely exist as part of this Great Thought.

Gotta think about perception OP we have like 5 or 6 main senses that can track information for our brains. What if there's an infinite amount of information happening to us that we don't have the receptors to sense? What if what we sense isn't even real. What if our own thoughts are realer than reality outside us.

Bhagavad Geeta

Understanding the spiritual nature of the world means moving past hard materialism.

You're describing karma-yoga as spoken by Krsna yes? Krsna describes the embodied soul's condition situation as:

"All men are forced to act helplessly according to the impulses born of the modes of material nature; therefore no one can refrain from doing something, not even for a moment." (Bg 3.5)

By entanglement with nature, the living entity is forced to act as inaction is not an option. Therefore Krsna says:

"Work done as a sacrifice for Visnu has to be performed, otherwise work binds one to this material world. Therefore, O son of Kunti, perform your prescribed duties for His satisfaction, and in that way you will always remain unattached and free from bondage." (3.9)

"As the ignorant perform their duties with attachment to results, similarly the learned may also act, but without attachment, for the sake of leading people on the right path. Let not the wise disrupt the minds of the ignorant who are attached to fruitive action. They should not be encouraged to refrain from work, but to engage in work in the spirit of devotion.
" (3.25-3.26)

Two persons, one in Karma-yoga and the other in material consciousness, working on the same level, may appear to be working on the same platform, but there is a wide gulf of difference in their respective positions. The person in material consciousness is convinced by false ego that he is the doer of everything. He does not know that the mechanism of the body is produced by material nature, which works under the supervision of the Supreme Lord. The materialistic person has no knowledge that ultimately he is under the control of Krsna. The person in false ego takes all credit for doing everything independently, and that is the symptom of his nescience. He does not know that this gross and subtle body is the creation of material nature, under the order of the God, and as such his bodily and mental activities should be engaged in the service of Krsna.

It can't be helped. Knowing it also doesn't change the fact. Therefore still can't be helped.

You have to perform work in this world, therefore work not for yourself but for God. Arjuna fought not because he had to, but because Krsna wanted him to.
