To be fair, 65 million year old dinosaur fossils are a minuscule example of what was and their fossilization was entirely circumstantial.

They are a rarity in a broader context.

Something comparable to ours would be very noticable in geological strata.

Strange occurance of certain rare elements in certain strata (or more common ones locally unnaturally abundant), or if they went nuclear that would be too VERY noticeable.
