Anyone read this? Looks like it would be a nice read and a good addition to my bookshelf. Is it worth the money?

a-anyone?

Any history book that uses the word 'civilization', claims to cover 'from the dawn of [that] to the present', or has a clearly popbait cover, is trash.
Because, a history book on ALL history, from everywhere, would fill a fucking room with dense texts.

>From the dawn of civilization to the present day
>There's a new edition released every day
I want to buy it, but I can't commit when I know it'll be superseded by the new edition within 24 hours.

>dude casual overviews are always bad lmao people should only read dry dense graduate level texts and nothing else

its going to be simple, as in intended for a wide range of readers, and not too in depth. However its Adam Hart-Davis who is somewhat popular here in the UK for his history stuff on tv which tends towards the very down to earth stuff rather than any claims of the granduer of Man etc. i would probably buy it as a nice general read but its not really going to have any surprises for the heavy history reader.

We're on to you, smithy.

Basically what I was hoping for. I knew that it was going to be extremely broad, but if the author's good then I think i'll pick it up. Thanks anon.

History texts already bullshit. Casual overviews are ideology-driven garbage
