Which was smarter is an interesting question. I'd give the nod to Franklin, but I could see the other case as well..

I'd bet that Franklin was much nicer to socialize with both in tact and content of conversation. Jefferson seems like a prick. I think smarter people tend to be less bitter when they socialize, at least the healthy ones.
