Yes really. The entire reason the Weimar Republic had any problems at all was because Ludendorff and the military establishment had pushed the meme that Jews and Bolsheviks were to blame for the German surrender in 1918, permanently destroying any authority that the new government had. Things weren't great in Weimar but they weren't particularly awful. The very fact that we know it as Weimar Germany instead of just Germany shows that attempts by groups such as the Nazis to delegitimise the state succeeded. It's why they were elected to begin with.

Lol no Weimar Republic was great. It was kind of like Germany is now, but more conservative. Heh. I mean. We have reached far longer now than during that time. And Hitler kinda reversed time back a hundred years but we still managed to crush fascism and look at us now!

Weimar Germany was pretty good. You had nationalism working with progressivism and everything was great. A vibrant night life and a futuristic mindset was the norm for a lot of people. People were, for the first time in history, enjoying themselves in a world that (if it hadn't been for fascist fuckwads) would probably advance further socially, politically and scientifically.

The fascists used the liberal state of the republic to funnel their rage. They needed to brand the Jew as their enemy because they couldn't tell the truth, that the Aryan man was a fabrication and that Germans were just ordinary people so they had to lie to them and give them an enemy they could hate for their own miserable mistakes.

Is just fundamentally wrong. The Catholic voting body had its own party and never expressed support for the Nazis. The voting body of the Nazis were Protestants from the North and from East, mostly disillusioned working class, and impoverished low-middle class.
