Romania in this context refers to (formerly) Byzantine lands.
>its citizens continued to refer to their empire as the Roman Empire (Greek: Βασιλεία τῶν Ῥωμαίων, tr. Basileia tôn Rhōmaiōn; Latin: Imperium Romanum), or Romania (Ῥωμανία), and to themselves as "Romans".
Other than a similar degree of wewuzism, modern Romania (România) has nothing to do with this.

>regional Serbian feudal lords mobilizing 20-70,000 men in late 14th century
Totally legit.
>>3325828
Also
>that massive range of estimated men
Why do people even trust 16th century figures? Most of the time, the victor massively inflates their enemy's numbers.
>>3325891
Sorry,
*pre-16th century figures

That's a total meme. The article says that many men drowned in the river trying to escape. Anyone who has seen the Maritsa knows that there is not a snowball's chance in hell to drown in it
>>3326026
You know rivers can change over the course of a few hundred years, right?
Fucked itself through ww2 and destroyed its reputation forever. Could have survived until the 60's.

Course yes, flow rate - rarely

First of all this map is wank.
The Bulgarian empires are underrated empires. I started reading about them when I learned that we (English) actually fought for them in Sigismund's crusade alongside Frenchmen despite the 100 year war which was raging at the time. Their empire while inconsistent was present and rather strong for a chunk of the middle ages, much more so than other empires that are given a lot more attention by historians and popular culture alike.

lolwut. It's constantly wanked about. It even got its own EC history series.
>>3328772
>It even got its own EC history series
The series has so far only discussed the events of one conflict, fucking Hawaii got more than that.
