Considering the fact that a given subset of the population will become insane at one point in their finite life, it must follow that during a life of infinite length one will at one point in time go insane for one reason or another.

If we use this definition of insanity, it could manifest itself within just a few decades. Most people today consider wiping out members of an ethnic group or similar to be morally horrifying. 80 or 90 years ago such logic was not uncommon. By your definition any person who grew up believing these things into the present day must be insane - even without an infinite life span.
We are immortal, and if it's possible to go insane then given sufficient change it will occur
