Civilian governments need militaries far more then any military needs a civilian government.
Not only would it be a trivial matter for a military to seize power and then expend its duties to governance, but the resulting society would be in much better hands.

While Prussia (sadly) never fully embraced Stratocracy, the influence and power that the military had over the nations military, economy and culture should go to show just how much better military governance would be.
