historically?

i feel like its unprecedented in human history...even Nazi Germany and the USSR populance wasn't totally brainwashed like these zombies
>>
>>3305539
Multiple generations with only one historical narrative. How are you this fucking stupid?
>>
>>3305547
so why didn't the same happen for USSR/Nazi Germany and other authoritarian regimes?
>>
>>3305547
Complete isolation from other ideas, because of complete isolation due to small size of nation, being an island, and military threat keeping everyone away. This has happened many times in history for short periods, we just don't focus on such societies, anon, cause they inevitably break down eventually.
>>
>>3305558
I know some people might get bad, but Nazi Germany was still part of Western Civilization and had the history of the enlightenment i.e questioning everything

Korea does not have the same trajectory
>>
>>3305571
*mad
>>
>>3305539

First of all the USSR did get that brainwashed, you just don't remember that because it was over fifty years ago. Same for China in the 50s and 60s, which is how Mao could stay on despite leading his country into famine and ruin. Kim's regime is no different.
>>
>>3305602
but it wasn't anywhere near the same levels of isolation that is present in current NK
>>
>>3305539
Nazi Germany - educated people, strong middle-class, lasted for 12 years

Soviet Union - peasants and workers, lasted from 1929-1953. Only Stalin's years are relevant because he was the only one with a strong cult of personality.

North Korea - uneducated peasants, exists for 60 years

And I would argue that after the WW2 Stalin's cult was actually very strong and similar to the Korean one. People genuinely cried after his death.
>>
>>3305539
They aren't. They just got used to that way of doing things. And it's partially their culture, or so they think.
>>
>>3305623

Depends on the era, Stalin was absolutely isolated in the 1930s hence why he was willing to engage in a nonaggression pact with Hitler. It took Hitler literally invading Russia itself to get him accepting western help. When the war concluded, things quickly slid back through the Rosenberg scandal. This was also when China went communist, which the US did not recognize leading to Taiwan getting a UN seat until Nixon's rapprochement with Beijing. During that time Mao went on the largest purge in human history, which combined with the famines he caused gives him the highest kill count of any individual dictator. This was when the Korean war began, and how the Kim family regime came into existence.

Which is to say, Kim is just a chip off the old block. He is an extremely typical, if small, example of a communist regime.

You only demonize the DPRK because they don't have a central bank run by the Rothschild's. I bet you believe the MSM about Saddam and Assad and Gaddafi too right?

I bet you believe that Assad must go and that Islam is a religion of peace and the rebels are the good guys right?

The globalists hate independent socialist countries.
>>
>>3305561
Is Korean peninsula an island now?
>>

Fuck off tankie, your ramblings are /pol/ tier, and your "socialist" country is just a pseudo monarchy with a red disguise.

0,2 $ was added to your account
>>
it's that 1984 scenario

there has to be at least one country on earth that followed that eventuality
>>
>>3305539
Stalin's USSR and Mao's PRC were definitely at that level in terms of cult of personality. Hell, there were stories of hundreds of Chinese peasants fighting over a photograph of a replica of a mango that Chairman Mao gave to a factory.

It's just that the majority of that happened before modern mass media, meaning that we weren't able to get as much access to it as we can with North Kora today.
>>
>>3305837
did Nazi Germany have a cult of personality around Hitler, or it just wasn't on the same level as Mao and Stalin?

It could be the other way, it is us that are brainwashed but north Korea is the only based country.

Listen I support the Syrian Arab Army's fight against terrorism and I generally do not support regime change against Assad. What that said I don't agree everything with what the Syrian government does and I'm not going to support North Korea just because Syria gets demonized. You and that anon that blurted out Rothschild Bank are stupid tankies. And I think tankies are worse than /pol/. It's pure cancer and it's pure autism.

Maybe we just got lucky with totalitarian states getting crushed by outside forces and in the case of Stalin, his successors experimenting with reforms, ending totalitarianism in the USSR.

Remember, totalitarianism hasn't been tried that much, it was really just Mussolini, Hitler and Stalin. Two of the three were removed by force of arms and one died without a clear successor so his system didn't survive him.

Maybe totalitarian systems are actually really stable if they just stay consistently totalitarian (not trying to democratize) and can sort out succession. I'm not saying they are good in any ways, but maybe it's just wishful thinking that dictatorships can't exist for long because the people will eventually rise up.

Tankie is a Cold War expression used primarily to denote staunch sympathizers of Soviet military interventionism across the Warsaw pact and 3rd world countries. To say Juche is in any fashion similar to tankism is to be a buzzword-throwing retard who knows nothing of the subject.

>Same for China in the 50s and 60s, which is how Mao could stay on despite leading his country into famine and ruin.

Lolno.

There was brainwashing, but Mao's political clout ultimately rested with the fact that the Chinese people didn't want to rock the boat since a shit peace was better than the century of destabilization, fragmentation, and war.

Mao basically remained important despite all the shit he did for being the ender of the civil war.
>>
>>3305539
They have no access to the outside world and are told what to believe.
>>3305558
Nazi Germany had access to the outside world and stuff like Hollywood movies being available and vacationing outside Germany were common pre-war. You don't see that in NK.
>>
>>3305539
Have you ever wondered if it's you that is brainwashed, not NK?
>>
South Korea also seems a bit brainwashed to me
It must be some kind of korean autism

I wonder how they explain to their citizens why they aren't allowed to leave North Korea.

>>
>>3308355
Why would you ever want to leave glorious workers paradise comrade?
>>
>>3308445
I have no idea why anyone would want to do that but some comrades I know wanted to leave and they were severely punished. It got me kind of curious why was that necessary, though I'm sure our leaders in their infinite wisdom have a great justification that will make me feel dumb even for asking.
>>
>>3305539
USA wiped the slate clean in the Korean War by carpet bombing it, obliterating like 18 out of 22 cities in northern Korea and reducing the population by ~40%. There were reports that the Americans couldn't even find any human settlements standing in the northern part during the later part of the war. The commie leadership were either in China or lived underground.

And while you might want to argue that carpet bombing was a viable strategy in Germany or Japan because the population was supporting the government, it's not like Kim had any stable social support and only assumed power in 1948.
>>
>>3308479
Wanting to leave is a sign of being a spy or having reactionary thoughts comrade. But you already should have known not to question dear leaders orders *shoots you*
>>
>>3305539
Kims are new emperor dynasty. It's natural to worship emperors in Far East countries.
I don't believe Kim Jong-un has real power, he must be just ceremonial figure.

Ok. Give me a quick rundown of what Juche actually is.

Furthermore they probably do have elections in North Korea just like they did in the USSR and the rest of the Warsaw Pact, except the only option was the Communist party and any attempt to vote for anyone (or anything) else led to your imprisonment.

Basically Juche is a Nationalist cult built around the Kim family with Leninist economics. It uses a shield of pro-communist rhetoric to the outside world but uses pro-nationalist rhetoric secretly. Rallies are just an excuse to stand around talking about how good Korea is. There is no real coherent belief to it other than worship Korea and the Kim family.

No he's actually telling the truth and so is this person as well.

>"New Cambodia (or Kampuchea, as it was called) under Pol Pot and his comrades was a nightmare for the privileged, for the wealthy and for their retainers; but poor people had enough food and were taught to read and write. As for the mass killings, these are just horror stories, averred my Cambodian interlocutors. Surely the victorious peasants shot marauders and spies, but many more died of American-planted mines and during the subsequent Vietnamese takeover, they said ... Noam Chomsky assessed that the death toll in Cambodia may have been inflated 'by a factor of a thousand'... To me, this recalls other CIA-sponsored stories of Red atrocities, be it Stalin's Terror or the Ukrainian Holodomor ... [The Vietnamese] supported the black legend of genocide to justify their own bloody intervention."
