Has anarcho-(insert ideology) ever worked/been tried? Has anarchism ever worked/been tried?
If not, why are these such meme ideologies?

Nice anarchism indeed

anarchism worked in the ancient pre state societies, like tribes or clans

Generally, theories of social organization presume the theory will function if implemented

OF COURSE!

I often hear ancaps claim that medieval Iceland was anarcho-capitalist, but I have no idea how true it is. Its such a specific and weird example to use that I think there has to be at least some merit to the claim though

Anarcho-anything is too unorganized to work on a large scale. Either organize or get absorbed into something already more organized. Planned, directed manpower and resources will always win out, be it physical or economic warfare.
Yes, successfully, for thousands of years

The point of anarchy is that it's unorganized, dipshit.

>Thinking tribes were free from hierarchy
What is with Western autists like Marxists and Anarchists being so fixated on economics to the exclusion of other aspects? It's absurd to call those pre-agricultural societies as being anarchistic. They may have been more egalitarian economically, but there definitely signs of hierarchy in social and religious terms.
Clans most certainly do have hierarchy. Go see what the clan-dominated societies of Koreans and Hakka were like traditionally.
