Thoughts on Medeival Bongland?

At some point they went from a French civilizing mission to a hive of perfidy.

Their focus on archery is just another example of their perfidy. Instead of facing their opponents in a noble melee, English cowards kept their distance.

Childhood is only reading about Medieval and Roman Britain because that's what 90% of your history books are written about.
Adulthood is reading about Medieval Europe.
Wisdom is going back to England and France after realising that your interest in meme history like Byzantium was just your teenage self being an edgy fuckwit.

/his/ is ouiaboo central, did you miss the memo?

But why??? Is it because everyone is a contrarian?

It's not. People are just butthurt, that popular media memes are not true and /his/ will laugh at

A mean an honest answer is that history is anglo-centric but the history of Europe is the history of France and the house of Habsburg
>>3306809
THe house of habsburg is merely a continuation of the feudal system, left in the wake of the fall of the western roman empire.
>>3301507
>employs thousands of mercenary crossbowmen and dabbles training up archers
What did the French mean by this?
>>3306817
What do you mean? The reason that Habsburg is interesting is because Austria controlled the HRE at the times when it was most active and imposed the most on history out of the HRE until Prussia happened. Their control of Spain at its height gave Habsburg control of most of Europe and the creation of Austria-Hungary was what created the balance of power in Europe besides the fact that they saw the Ottomans off.
And if you mean "it was the logical conclusion of Feudalism" no it wasn't. Very clever marriages gave them their first bit of power and from there they adopted a unique insular marriage policy that retained their power
