Was the Mongolian empire the only civilization in history to be ruled by more than one "evil" people?
Honestly it just amazes me that Temur Khan and Genghis Khan were part of the same empire, not to mention the Mongols were the ones who used the fucking black Plague as a chemical warfare method.
Is there any empire that compares to there levels of brutality?
>Such and unassuming people did that?
Their history really showed man at our most powerful and frightening pre-industrial concept of empire building. Especially when you consider the numbers and distance.
This is what happens when East Asian main land and Steppe work together and just go. It is fucking scary shit man. Consider their expeditionary forces first contact with the crusader Georgian army iirc IV Crusade.
Ha, I see what you mean man. Pretty brutal especially when you consider the enormous loss of human life and the off chance the world cooled maybe a degree because of the loss of agriculture during their time compounded with the plague. Mongolian wartime history is so great for military history nerds. I personally love Temujin's ability to use logic, reason, and propaganda to avoid war as well. They lived the life an adrenaline junkied up Viking/Crusader/Comanche Brave/Roman Legionary/Marine Core/etc
