What is it about Spain that has bread the most aetheically pleasing craftmanship, architecture, and engineering?
Start with the Spanish Gallon for example. You will never seen a more marvelously crafted ship.
Since Spain was so zealous, they tried to make everything that could be considered art as beautiful as possible in God's name.

>yfw you will never be called soon by your Lord to prepare for battle in your colorful uniform, grab your finely made Toldeo steel sword and mount your hand cannon to prepare to fire a 1inch wide metal ball into your enemies.
Why even live?
The concept of Toldeo steel is still heavily debated on.
The craftsmen of the Iberian when Toldeo was under Muslim control most certainly could have been descended techniques of Damascus and could have been using very similar formulas to recreate the steel used in Damascus.
While Toldeo and the rest of the Iberian was surely liberated, much of the Islamic Culture still remained and remains to this day. Toldeo is world renown for its art and style in crafting fine swords. But what was the origin of their aesthetics?
What is it about the Spanish architecture that utilized open spaces in building for courtyards? Is there a more comfy place then This?

Craftsmanship is passed down from master to apprentice, and the Spaniards along with the Italians had the longest continuous chain from Classical times for a long time. A lot of that was due to the Moors who maintained a high level of material culture that had otherwise collapsed in the rest of Europe.

only by those with no clue about the subject.
>The craftsmen of the Iberian when Toldeo was under Muslim control most certainly could have been descended techniques of Damascus and could have been using very similar formulas to recreate the steel used in Damascus.
No. There is absolutely no evidence of that at all. Firslty, "damascus" steel did not come from disascus, Pulad/Wootz was imported to damascus as part of the trade route from modern-day Afghanistan and North India. There is not once single piece of evidence of crucible steel manufacture in western europe until the 17th century.
>While Toldeo and the rest of the Iberian was surely liberated, much of the Islamic Culture still remained and remains to this day.
Spanish swordmaking did not make a rise in prominence till 200 years after the reconquest. There are decorative arts which are similar to islamic art, but otherwise, nothing of the sort.
>Toldeo is world renown for its art and style in crafting fine swords.
Toledo has rested on its laurels for the last century, crafting cheap display toys branded with the name, and lacking all the subtleties of detail and performance of the original stuff.

That is most definitely not Spanish Architecture.
That is a Syrian style of home called Tarza Al-Demishque (style of Damascus). It is common throughout the middle east but it comes from Syria.
My grandma owns one. The way it is laid out is; apartment style rooms on the second and sometimes third floor, downstairs is for laundry and a big ass kitchen, and center room is intended for family gathering. This style grew in popularity in the region, due to the size of families, and the need for a natural cooling system.
I wish Middle Eastern Architecture would be discussed more on this board, but sadly people cant separate modern stereotypes from historical discussion.

>Historically the flagellants are the origin of the current traditions, as they flogged themselves to do penance. Pope Clement VI ordered that flagellants could perform penance only under control of the church ; therefore he decreed Inter sollicitudines ("inner concerns" for suppression).[2] This is considered one of the reason why often flaggelants hide their faces.
>The use of the capirote or coroza was proscribed in Spain and Portugal by the holy office of Inquisition. Men and women who were arrested had to wear a paper capirote in public as sign of public humiliation. The capirote was worn during the session of an Auto-da-fé. The colour was different, conforming to the judgement of the office. People who were condemned to be executed wore a red coroza. Other punishments used different colours.
>When the Inquisition was abolished, the symbol of punishment and penitence was kept in the Catholic brotherhood. However, the capirote used today is different: it is covered in fine fabric, as prescribed by the brotherhood. Later, during the celebration of the Holy Week/Easter in Andalusia, penitentes (people doing public penance for their sins) would walk through streets with the capirote.
>The capirote is today the symbol of the Catholic penitent: only members of a confraternity of penance are allowed to wear them during solemn processions. Children can receive the capirote after their first holy communion, when they enter the brotherhood.
