I want to really understand National Socialism, but I find it difficult to get started
I ordered Mein Kampf and intend to read it, but is there some other work that can act as a theoretical foundation for the ideology?
I know it doesn't have the academic spheres of Marxism, so it's difficult to grasp
and wikipedia is very confusing to read, they mix up the actual ideology with the actions of the NSDAP (Nazi Party in Germany) and the action of the German forces (Wehrmact, SS, etc)
but are these the same?
can we separate out the actual ideology from the actions of Germany?

There was no real core unifier to the cause except anti-semitism. It wasn't economic as you can see from the differences between Hitler and Strasser.

Hitler National Socialism was a copycat of Italian fascism with focus in anti semitism and mystical racial bullshit

The problem is that there is no real core philosophy other than German racial superiority and antisemitism. It's a conservative mindset so it pretty much steals its values from whatever idyllic past the perspective convert longs to return to. It promises to return Germany to this lapsed utopia and blames the fall from grace on the Jews. Reading Mein Kampf you'll see that Hitler spends a lot of time simply railing against the decadence of Vienna, the cowardice of the German government for capitulating to Allied Powers, and then how when he first spied on the Nazis (surprise, Hitler was a government shill at the time spying on extremist groups) they were just angry vets talking about commies and that he respected their passion but found it misdirected.
Goebbels is in my opinion the best person to read if you want to learn about National Socialism
pic related is a very short text/speech he gave. in it he compares NatSoc with marxism and regular socialism. It's only about 30-40 pages but it covers quite a significant part of the ideology.
