Is/was there any attempt to create a scientifical religion or spiritual system?
By this I don't mean science as the object of devotion but a religion free from superstition by the means of discarding it according to scientific discoveries, adapting things that are proven to have a benefitial effect (like meditation), etc
Alternatively, is there any religion/belief system compatible with change and science?

Scientism
The basis of religion is that you need to listen to someone else who has some special connection to the divine/spiritual that others don't. Scientifically, that's hard to argue.

you can see truths for yourself, without arbitrary judgments of the source, integrating a single reality with trust in yourself and god where you want him. cultivate your spirituality and allow others to do the same. the church youre describing is our world. are you asking how to participate effectively (ie encouraging honesty)?

You're not going to find any religion that bases itself on the standard model of the universe. If that's what you're asking.
However the standard model of the universe isn't science, it's the conclusion of most scientists. Science itself is a tool of constant experimentation and basing your view on the results.
So something eastern I guess. They're all about experimenting with the mind and finding truth first hand. Probably the closest you'll get.
