British Revolution

If Parliament had lost the civil war a century before it's possible that the revolution would've spread to the UK regardless of the 13 colonies. Might have actually stopped the American civil war, but then once you start saying "what would the UK be like if Cromwell lost 100 years later" you're just in fan-fic territory.

So no, England wouldn't've had a revolution with France because it had already decapitated the king and permitted socialist communes in the mid 17th cent. I suppose the better question is why didn't the English revolution spread to France, that is, why did France take so long to kill its catholic monarch?
