The common argument, usually accompanied by that misattributed Charles Darwin quote about negros and diamonds, seems to be that the Africans are squandering their natural resources similar to how lottery winners often end up in financial insolvency despite their sudden boons. Also oil, gold, and diamonds are absolutely useful for developing nations. Case in point OPEC countries and India, whose GDP is bolstered by its giant diamond industry.

Also most Africaposters who keep asking why the continent is shit aren't really interested in an actual answer.
