Gentleman,
I was wondering whether or not someone would be able to clarify on the deepest roots of my family name. Feeling quite lost in regards to my identity, I've had this feeling for most of my life.
Being born in South Africa, parents and at least the last few generations before them, all of English and Irish roots, and finally, being raised in Australia, identity is lost within myself.
Feeling drawn towards European and Scandinavian culture for most of my life, I'm seeking clarification as to whether or not my bloodlines stem back to the days of the Norsemen. I just don't know whether or not to take articles such as the one listed below, into serious consideration.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated, I'm blonde of hair, with blue eyes if that helps at all.
Sincerely,
T
The early origins part of that article is fairly accurate, yeah
Scandinavians had little to no impact on Irish genetics, and the Ó hUiginn dynasty especially is from a part of Ireland with no Scandinavian settlement
The dynasty was only founded in the 17th century and before that would've been a cadet branch of the Ó Néill dynasty
Though having that last name doesn't necessarily mean you're literally descended from the Ó hUiginn dynasty. People living in Ó hUiginn land might've adopted Ó hUiginn into their own name and their original name was lost in Anglicisation.

Thank you kindly for your response.
So where am I from? How can I track this information down, is there a DNA test that I can get organised?
