On a meta scale humanity spends trillions on preventing climate change and saving the planet when we all know that both our planet and universe will one day end?
Isn't it because though life is hard and sad and grim and depressing life has within it those brief moments of happiness and wonder that make all the pain and strife worth it?
And don't we seek to ensure the longevity of our would so that our successors can enjoy those moments that are universally applicable to all? Making jokes with a friend or love with your other half or watching a sunset?

Isn't lifes struggle awesome for those moments where we truly see the face of whatever God lines the seems of the stars?
