I was just thinking about this yesterday. Sometimes on 4chan someone posts a story that can't be proven but nonetheless contributes to the argument. If it's an improbable story it's usually flamed. But we can take it into account at least as a potential factor, right? Without assuming it to be a fact per se
When the person saying it was famous enough
When it reinforces your pre-existing beliefs
