US vs. the British Empire

World War 1, anything before that would have resulted in the USA getting creamed. The 18th and 19th centuries were the peak of British power.

Zero chance. The revolution was their only time that more than just the original states could have been annexed without diplomacy like the Louisiana Purchase.

The British up until WW2 were far ahead of the US in military power and strength.

We are talking about A nation that was the mastermind behind the Fall of the Ottoman Empire, Prussian Empire, Austiran Empire and the subjugation of India.

Muh Freedom from tyranny and muh 2nd amendment was not gona win any war against the British.

The Grits had the strongest Navy in the world that could launch shells from miles away. What were Americans going to do? Hide in the great plains and survive off bread?

There's no real way for Britain to win such a war. The US is too vast to be occupied, and Canada is too far away to be effectively defended.

I didn't think OP meant that to win, the British have to occupy the US. And Canada really isn't too far away to be defended considering that the Royal Navy allowed British troops to be landed and well supplied pretty much anywhere in the world

Well, if in this timeline the Brits still are rivals with the US, the probably would have done a lot more to prop up the CSA, leaving the nation far more split and sparking a constant tension between the two nations, which I believe would end in constant conflict which would reduce the US to the same sort of status as a Latin American country.

Could have done #1 at most points in history. Pretty much any time after the civil war America would have destroyed Canada and repelled any British counterattack.
#2 though would probably never be able to happen, and would be downright impossible any time before WW1.

In the long run even by WW1, the sheer strength that the US would eventually bear on Canada makes it a losing prospect for Britain.

WW1 also keep in mind that in this hypothetical timeling the US would almost certainly have german support and might even lead to a democratic fascist government in the US
