It used to be so great, but has been nerfed by absolutism and indirectly by all the buffs to monarchies- disinherit, free queen/royal marriage mana, disinherit, personality traits.

There was a guy posting book guides to Renaissance Italian city states in the last few book threads--hope he finds his way here. As far as I can tell there isn't much written in English about the Ambrosian Republic.

The Ambrosia Republic gets a reduction in the Rt cost to re elect though, doesn't that mean you can keep a super dude without losing too much rt, and benefit from traits?
