Through force. At first the Arabs let the people they subjugated retain their languages, but eventually made it hell for anyone who wasn't Arabized or spoke Arabic. Truly Arab supremacy. In the Greek days only upper class Jews spoke Greek, the common folk spoke Aramaic. The Arabs destroyed all that, and now we will never have a Coptic speaking Egypt, or a Aramaic speaking Middle East, or a pure Berber speaking Maghrebi. It was stupid anyway considering a Moroccan Arab can't be understood by an Iraqi Arab.
